22/05/2005 The Texas Lottery Commission presented a ceremonial check for $3.4 million to the JUNO Partnership of DeSoto. The partnership claimed one of the four jackpot-winning Lotto Texas tickets from the drawing held Saturday, April 21st. The jackpot was worth an estimated $25 million. The partnership chose the Cash Value Option, which pays winners a one-time lump sum payment.
The jackpot-winning ticket was bought at the Citgo Redbird store, located at 1411 N. Duncanville Road in Duncanville. The retailer is eligible to receive a one-percent bonus - $62,500 - for selling one of the four winning tickets.
The winning numbers drawn were: 47-02-23-10-29-48. According to members of the partnership, they have played the same numbers since the inception of Lotto Texas in 1992.
William R. Glover of North Richland Hills claimed the first of the four prizes on May 8th, and Jack Yother of Grand Prairie claimed the second on May 11th. Glover and Yother chose their jackpot-winning tickets by using the Quick Pick feature, and elected for the Cash Value Option, which paid them $3.4 million each.
As of today, there is still one ticket remaining unclaimed for this drawing. That ticket was sold at the Walnut Hill Shell, located at 2992 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas.
Members of the JUNO Partnership requested minimal publicity. |
