LAS VEGAS, NV - - Las Vegas largest and swingin est Jazz festival takes place Friday, May 31st through Sunday, June 2nd, 2002. The Fremont Street Experience presents the Las Vegas Jazz Festival featuring 20 bands performing on 8 stages and in 3 lounges for three full days; 170 live performances in all.

Celebrate the first 50 years of Jazz (1895 - 1945) with bands from all over the world. Jazz styles include traditional, blues, gospel, western swing, Latin jazz, swing and Cajun Zydeco. Enjoy five city blocks swingin all weekend long under the 2 million lights of the Fremont Street Experience light and sound show canopy.

The entertainment lineup includes the Big Band Trio & Jumpin Jive Orchestra (Victoria, BC, Canada), Big Tiny Little & The Show Band, Chicago Six, Chuck Diamond & The Royal Dixie Jazz Band, Fulton Street Jazz Band, Gator Beat, Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers, Paco Gatsby (Guatemala City, Guatemala), Stan Mark & His Sin Sity Suitz, The Boondockers, Cornet Chop Suey, Fireworks Jazz Band (Melbourne, Australia), The Hucklebucks, Juggernaut Jug Band, Pieces of Eight, Bill Allred s Classic Jazz Band, Yankee Wailers, Yve Evans, Golden Gate Jazz Trio, The Rippingtons, and featured guest artist Bob Draga. The Las Vegas Jazz Festival at the Fremont Street Experience is produced in conjunction with the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society.

Bands perform on five indoor and three outdoor stages Friday, May 31st from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1st from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 2nd from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Stage locations are sponsored by the resorts located at the Fremont Street Experience. All stages are within easy walking distance.

Outdoor stages are located at First and Fremont Street, Third and Fremont Street and the Golden Nugget pool. Indoor stages are located at the Lady Luck Showroom, the Fremont Hotel s Gold Ballroom, the Four Queens Casino Hotel King s Pavilion, Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel Cabaret, and the Golden Nugget Theatre Ballroom. Indoor lounge venues are located in the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, The Las Vegas Club Casino Hotel and the Golden Nugget. One daily admission ticket provides access to all indoor and outdoor stage locations.
