New study on gambling and suicide rates found little or no connection at all between the two
A new study by the University of California has found that gambling has little or no correlation with suicide rates in U.S. communities with casinos. The study, authored by epidemiologists team, was published this month in the academic journal "Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior" and adds to the research line that has not determined a strong connection between gambling and suicide. This long-standing issue on linking gambling to suicide has a deep social-political meaning as well, because of its importance at legislatures debates and casino industry in general.
