| Cake Decorator Plans To Use Skills Differently |

JoAnn McCoy of Dallas, has had a 'sweet' job for the last 27 years. McCoy works has a cake decorator, and learned today that winning the Texas Lottery's Weekly Grand scratch-off game can be just as gratifying as one of her delectable delights. Today, she told lottery officials she going to take those decorating skills to a different level.

"I thought about moving to a new home," McCoy said. "Now, I think I'm going to remodel my existing house. I'll probably get a car for my daughter who just graduated (high school) too."
McCoy and her husband, W.C., have played the popular instant ticket since it first came out in 1995.
"We play twice a week," said McCoy. "He gets one and I get one. We enjoy playing the scratch-offs and W.C. also likes to play Lotto."
McCoy recently had surgery on her hand, so she sent her husband out to purchase their weekly tickets. She explained how W.C. scratched her ticket for her, and hollered out from the other room when he saw her ticket was a winner.
"I thought he was kidding," she explained. "I kept thinking, 'Is this for real?' It's been hard to believe."
W.C. purchased their winning Weekly Grand ticket Clark Road Mobil. In accordance with lottery procedures, the retailer is eligible to receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the top-prize winning ticket. The store is located at 602 S. Clark Road in Duncanville.
McCoy is the Texas Lottery's 55th Weekly Grand winner, and will collect $1,000 a week for the next 20 years, with a total payout of $1,040,000. The popular lottery scratch-off has been reissued a total of nine times. |
