08/05/2005 Circle K located on 8470 FM 2673 in Canyon Lake received a Lottery bonus check for selling one of two winning tickets in the March 3, $30 million Lotto Texas jackpot. At a special ceremony at the store, RenT McCoy of the Texas Lottery Marketing Division presented Norman Macy, Circle K District Manager, with a check for $154,286.
"We think it's just great that we sold that winning ticket," said Dana Crick, Category Manager for Circle K. "I think it's a neat thing not only for the clerk and our store, but also the town. The town's people are still really excited about a winning ticket being sold in Canyon Lake."
According to Crick, no decision has been made as to what Circle K will do with the all of the bonus check money, but store employees will receive a bonus of their own.
Retailers are eligible to receive a one-percent bonus for selling a winning jackpot ticket. Two winning tickets were sold for the March 3, Lotto Texas jackpot worth $30 million. The second ticket was purchased in Houston at Paradise Gifts #3.
Edna L. Finke of Canyon Lake claimed one-half of the $30 million jackpot. The winner chose the Cash Value Option and received $8.5 million. With Cash Value Option, players receive their prize as the net present value, equal to approximately one-half of the estimated jackpot. |
